Smoking entails burning tobacco using a lighter or any heat source, and inhaling chemicals, carbon monoxide, and tar, into your lungs. This practice has been around for centuries and with new laws and the growing popularity of vaping, this practice may soon die out.
In 2011 there were roughly 11 million people who reported that they have vaped in the last 30 days. As of 2023, 86.1 million people have now reported that they have vaped in the last 30 days.
A common misconception is that vaping is entirely harmless, or at least less harmful than smoking. It is true that vaping eliminates the combustion process that allows the toxins and chemicals to be inhaled and exhaled, there are still thousands of chemicals that are inhaled while vaping. Regardless of the argument of vaping vs. smoking, there are major health risks and you could be permanently damaging your lungs.
